where is the mage i'm supposed to find?  i searched through the whole place and couldnt find him.  the green arrow on my compass points me to his room on the second floor, where i found his journal, but nothing from there.  where do i?

to clarify, the quest is from a small town straight north of imp. city full of invisible people, and it sends you to fort catractus (spl?)

Detect Life and check on the very top of the fort!

I just walked around till i heard him insult me and then tracked down the location of the voice

Very unlikely if not imposible. He is a very acoplished mage. One way to try and find him is to stand on the first steps and just chill till he basicly walks into you ..... eventuly....
