You mean you just got Oblivion?

To get the race, class, and birthsign just start a new game and go through the "tutorial" type levels at the begining. After you fight your way through the entire first area they will ask you to choose all that.

As for the Green Elven Sword, I'm not familiar with it.

As for online, there isn't a multiplayer version so the only reason to go online it to get updates and patches from theelderscrolls.com or do download mods and expansions. You can hear all about that stuff here.

If I didn't answer your question, please clarify or just wait for someone else to come along and help you out.

Good luck.

Theres no right and wrong answer what was class, birthsign or race you pick, you can make it all up by yourself. You can even make your own class. To do that, when the Emperor's Guard asks you what class you are, you have to choose 'Custom Class' and choose all the major skills and name your new class. You can also change your class or edit it right before you exit the Imperial Underground.

If you want to choose Race, Class, and Birthsign to suit a certain kind of warrior (e.g. Mage, Hand-to-Hand, Knight, Marksman, etc.) you can look up a guide for the right skills, or use http://www.atomicgamer.com/article.php?id=243, which is quite handy. Hope this helps.

if you mean green glass sword, then i made a book in how to get that . heres that section:
Glass Sword
Ok. You have to pay
A big price to get
This. No, not by money,
 But by a Murder.
There is a small province
 NE of Leyawin, my fa-
vorite town under Bravil.

There is an Ork over there
With a Green Sword
Sheathed in his scabbard.
You kill him and take
His sword. There is still
Two other people there
That you can kill, and one
Of them has a massive mass
Of magical arrows.

hope it helped.

The PC version and 360 version are barely different. Some things might be a little off from the PC vs., but most of the time the 360 isn't any different.

At least, that's what I've read from guides. I have the PC version, and sometimes I use 360 quest guides without even noticing cause it works just the same.

I don't know where the sword is, but to join the thieves guild you must either persuade a begger and ask about the Grey Fox, or get in jail and the next time you sleep you'll get a note how to join.

I got in by talking to the beggars. you just have to get them to really like you first.

For the jail way... does it matter how you got in jail or does it have to be for stealing? I'm guessing the amount of time spent in jail doesn't matter. Just like you have to kill someone to get in the Dark Brotherhood (or so the rumor around Cyrodiil goes  Wink ), I'm just guessing that your arrest should be for theft to get into the theives guild. Now I'm curious.

Like I said, the beggars really have to like and trust you before they'll tell you anything. Just pick one and get on their good side. Use persuation to max out their disposition. Donate a coin. If you have to, bribe them during persuation to take their disposition beyond max. You might need to get 75 or more, I don't recall, but keep at it.

As for the Mages Guild. There are 7 cities, not including Kvatch or the Imperial City. Anvil, Skingrad, Bravil, Leyawiin, Cheydinhal, Bruma, and Chorrol. You need to get a recommendation from each of them. I'm pretty sure each of those cities has a Mages Guild.

WARNING: Spoiler for the DB

Heres what I did to get an invitation into the Thieves Guild:

I just started playing the game, not know anything about crimes, murder or stealing, and I was at the Chestnut Handy Stables outisde of the Imperial City. I accidentaly mounted the wrong horse, so the horse keeper person started attacking me. I was bewildered, cause I had no idea what I did wrong, and then this guard came and told me I need to make a choice between going to jail and resisting arrest. I chose ressit arrest, not knowing that I was likley sending myself to doom, but somehow I managed to kill the guard. This, for some reason, counted form murder, and I was later caught by a passing guard, and i just went to jail before I did anything else wrong.

As soon as I served my time, I went to an Inn and slept. After an hour, I was woken by Lucien Lachance and he invited me into his 'family'. Then I went to sleep again, and one hour later I was woken again by a Dark Elf who delivered me a Mysterious Note that was from the Grey Fox, asking me to meet someone at Midnight in the waterfront.

I hope this will help you a little. =P
