Oblivion Screenshot Competition #2: Relax
«
on:
March 23, 2007, 01:03:44 AM »
It's time for another
Screenshot Competition!
Here's how it works:
At the start of each competition, the rules will be stated in the first post and any changes from the
standard set of rules
will be shown in
bold
for emphasis, along with the Theme and the Deadline. The Theme is a word, phrase, or description that each entry is based on and will set the basis for judging at the end of the competition. Each user can submit one (1) screenshot each. When the deadline is up, the topic will be locked. A new poll will be created soon after the competition ends so that voting can begin.
Rules:
Every entry must be the user's own work. (It cannot be downloaded from another website)
Unless otherwise stated, it must be a screenshot from "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion"
It can not be edited, color adjusted, or enhanced in any way (Especially, photo or graphics editing programs)
You can resize, crop, and scale as necessary to get it to a reasonable screensize and filesize, as long as you're not attempting to enhance the image in the process, as that would violate the previous rule.
You
are
allowed to re-use a screenshot you previously posted on the boards, as long as it follows all other rules and has never been used in any other competition before. (especially this one, of course)
No off topic posting in the Competition topic. (Open discussion will be allowed in the
Screenshot Competition Discussion
topic)
No profanity, offensive language, or adult situations. (All forum rules still apply here.)
If you have any active mods in the scene (especially user-mods that affect the textures, clothing, or visual quality of the game), please list them in the text of your submission.
Please include basic information about your general location in Cyrodiil (nearest city; name of the cave, fort, or Ayleid Ruin; or questline) and, if you would like to, add a brief description of why you feel your picture fits the theme.
This Week's Theme is
Relax
Go into Oblivion (or Cyrodiil) and take a picture (screenshot) of anything that best represents the word "Relax". (People relaxing, your character's favorite place to relax, a very relaxing 'art photo' from Cyrodiil, or anything else you feel fits the theme. Post it here and see who's picture is the best. This is a more 'relaxed' theme this week
(unavoidable pun)
, so keep that in mind. It's more artistic and has a few more opportunities to reinterpret the theme than last week.
The deadline is
Thursday
29 March
2007 at 7:00pm
EST
(4:00pm PST; midnight GMT; 10am Fiday in Australia)
When the competition is over for the week the topic will be locked and a new poll will be created so we can all vote for a winner. Remember, only one entry each, so make it a good one. Good luck and have fun!

Ok, im a little late, but I don't fancy going out and getting a screenshot, I like posting it.
When I know its time to relax, I go out and copy the painting of the anvil lighthouse.
The mod im using here is Strike A Pose, for the animation.
I had to kill that lady to get her painting. Its for a good cause.

Damn! I was going to submit the exact same scene, except the lady was there and whatnot. I'm going to submit another one for now, but if it's alright, can I submit a screenie that has the same place, but in a different view?
My (Temporary?) Submission:
There are no mods in this screenshot.
I often find that adding horses to a scene with soft colours and a setting or rising sun makes it look all dreamy, laid back and relaxing. Plus, one could say that the horses themselves are relaxing. The location is Brina Cross Inn.

There there horsey, have a nice playful gallop in the lavender fields
Everytime I see this shot, I feel like getting in my car and driving down to the central North Island of New Zealand where we have scenery like this (minus the ruins and stone-paved roads of course). I can't believe they've made a game that actually captures the feel of natural scenery. Aaaaahhhhhhh *happy sigh*
No mods were used in this screenshot. The image has not been cropped, I play it on widescreen resolution. The image has been reduced in size, however.

Well, I closed it late again this week. At least it's the same day this time.
The
Oblivion Screenshot Competition #2
is now officially
closed
. (only 3 hours late) We have only 3 entries, again, but they're pretty good ones. I think you'll all agree. Voting will begin soon so that you can all agree on a winner. Lets try to be decisive this time, shall we?
Again, if anyone thinks there should have been more time, or to make any other suggestions, just mention it in the
Screenshot Competition Discussion
topic.
Side-note: I really meant to enter this one too but this month I've worked 40 hours of overtime. So, instead of getting to collect cool screenshots and
relax
, I had to find ways to squeeze an extra week worth of work into my life this month. Haha. Oh well. At least I didn't try to grab a screenshot and close it after it was entered. I'm not power hungry. Now that I'm a 'Warrior' on the Cyrodiil Forums I have an even higher standard to uphold.
Vote for a winner Here:
