I think Apotheosis has got to be the best "Oh, @&%#!" weapon I have seen. Granted, it only has twelve charges, but it takes down pretty much anyone in one hit, most guards in two. It will certainly keep you from being closely followed if you have to retreat. Makes short work of the Arena, too.

It defeats the purpose slightly though if you run around with a wtfj00gotpwned 11111one11 weapon dont you think?

What purpose? It's for killing people. It only has a few charges, so you can't just go nuts with it. Unless you have a stack of Varla stones.

Well in your example for instance if I took it into the arena and used it to defeat any of the opponents I was not able to defeat with my current skills.  It would take away the challenge factor for me to be using a one hit wonder weapon to cheese enemies I was not strong enough to beat just to gain the grandmaster title.

Yes, God forbid you use your brain to play the game. Just go in hacking at anything that moves. I guess I shouldn't poison enemies with paralyse arrows either, huh? Or use weapons that damage health and fatigue?

How do you plan on taking down Umbra? Silver longsword and the Raiment of Valor?

And much hard earned skill and stats

It is true though, what Misere said about taking away the challenge factor. Theres really two ways you can choose to play the game and either way is fine, it's player's choice afterall. Personally I prefer the hard-yakka way about things, it keeps me interested in the game. I always deliberately walk around with a weak, near useless weapon no matter where I go. It makes battles last so much longer thus getting more enjoyment out of the game.

I'm not saying I run around blasting everyone with Apotheosis. It's good to have if you can afford it, though. That staff is really no different than some of the custom spells and weapons that can do tremendous damage. Personally, I prefer to use Sufferthorn for a 6x damage backstab. I have Apotheosis just in case.

That was my point exactly as Chrono says from a personal point of veiw I prefer to be challenged in the encounters and if I die i reload.  Try another tactic or different aproach.  If I still cant do it then its time to think about going away taking on some thing more suited to my level and coming back with a vangence when I have increased my stats and skills.

Thats not to say I would enfocrce that on anyone else the game is there to be played and enjoyed and how you go about that is entirely your own buisness.

Well, in a world of static enemies, that would be great. This is a world of leveled enemies. When you come back later, they are even tougher. The only things that sets you apart are your weapons, armor, and spells. Disarm is great and all, but it rarely works and many enemies have no weapon. Plus, fighting multiple enemies can be downright brutal.

You would have to shell out serious coin to even get Apotheosis and keep that beast charged, or have a stack of Varla stones handy to run wild with.

Getting cornered in a dungeon with only my bow and a shortsword; not on my list of favorite things to do.

See what your saying Ango, but it seems to work. I apreciate enemies do level but Im not sure if thats set encounters or just random enemies in dungeons or both.  If anyone knows for sure feel free to chip in.

It's still all in the spirit of good discussion, no matter what we are infact trying to discuss =p

Monsters indeed get stronger, but skills > strength IMO.

Where can I get this staff?
Currently I have a custom blade named "The Spirit of Martin Septim"
it does 50 frost dmg per hit on top of the normal damage from the blade (23)
