Hello ... New(ish) modder here ...

Hey gang, I'm MOJO and I author small mods for Oblivion (physics based, items/armor/weapons re-skins). Hopefully I'll be able to help beginning modders (I mean the REALLY new people since my own experience is somewhat limited) and seek advice and tips from more experienced modders. I'm also in the process of compose an easy-to-follow get started guide to the CS. It was hard asking question after question to do really basic things since the CS help is really lengthy, so my compilation will be step-by-step with Kudos going to all the people who answered my first questions.

I should have it online by the end of the month. I will post a link to it when it's up in the mods forum. It will be in .pdf so I can include screenshots.

Sounds great. I just started learning to retexture Armor. I have the very basics down but I can't figure out an easy way to generate the alpha channels and the other layers in the _n file. I can see what each layer is trying to do but if I have to draw it from scratch, it's not going to line up well enough. I may have a few questions about all this later in the week when I make another attempt to figure it out. (I'm using NIFskope and PhotoShop) Any tips you could give before I even get that far would be great.
It seems like we haven't had a whole lot of technical modding discussions on these forums yet. I hope this can be the start of that around here.
Oh. By the way... Welcome! I almost lost track of which board this was in. I look forward to hearing more from you. Stick around.
