It's time to vote for which screenshot best portrays the competition theme.

The theme for the Oblivion Screenshot Competition #8 was: Religion.

Any member of Cyrodiil forums can vote once whether you entered the competition or not. If you have an entry in the competition it is strongly recommended that you don't vote for yourself. Not only is that a pretty arrogant thing to do but it is rude and could potentially skew the voting. Besides, if everyone voted for their own entry, then only the votes of those who did not participate would count. Everyone be honest and vote for the screenshot that best fits the theme.

Try not to take the "quality" of the image into account too much. No one should win just because they have a more powerful computer and run higher settings. Think of this as an in-game photography contest. Consider, mood, composition, balance (stuff like that if you know about photography), but above and beyond any other consideration: does this entry most make me think about this rounds theme?

It's not a requirement but please tell us who you voted for and why. You can also tell us what was most important to you and what could any of the entries could have done to be better.

The poll will expire in 7 days (Sunday, 7 October 2007), that's all the time you have to make your decision. After that, I'll leave the poll open for the announcement of the winner, congratulation posts, and any additional comments and discussion of the entries.

All the shots are pretty good this time, I could have voted for any of them, but I feel that Mystical's entry captures best what religion is all about: Killing reptiles.

Religion is not about killing reptiles. Well, it is about killing. But not only reptiles I guess :p

I voted for Paragon.  I’ve always liked the stained glass in Oblivion, there’s so much detail in them…

I voted for Manix's screenshot because I believe that he captured a powerful feeling to the word 'religion'. A lot of harm can be done under that name, and even with good intentions all it will lead to is disaster. The burning chapel is perfect for my interpretation. I feel this way because my Social Studies class is currently studying Medieval England, and the effects of religion at that time. If you were offended by my comments, I  apologize.

I agree with Mystical on this one...I voted for Manix too...it does a good job capturing the volatility of religion.  good job manix.
