Anyone know what the king of miscarand is? ok so, i went to the jail to pay my fine (i tried to pickpocket the gaurd captain) and once i had paid i got a welcome greeting of three zombielike things and a lich looking guy named king of miscarand. Is there any reason he attacked me or is it just a coincidence that he happened to pop up in front of th jail?

The name sounds familiar but I'm not sure why they would just show up. Did you make any trips to Miscarand? It's an Ayleid ruin but I can't remember where. It's possible that if you visited the site, even if you didn't clear the whole thing out, they might have decided to hunt you down. [potential quest bug?]

He's meant to appear with his zombie mates when you pick up the greater welkynd stone from miscarcand during the main quest. Did you do that quest? maybe you forgot to kill him and he's been seeking vengeance ever since?

'tis a strange one.

ya if you happen to pick the stone up and not kill anything or console it into your inventory, it triggers them to randomly attack you in a town. Pretty funny stuff to be honest.

It appears when you pick the stone up and not kill anything or console it into your inventory the next time you pay fine (dont tested if you go to the jail), but it will not attack you if you dont commited a crime. Off topic note: The same happens to me with the guards of Malacaths quest
