In this thread you may post your feedback, criticism and suggestions about further development of our forum. Useful suggestions will be brought into life, if it's possible; we will do everything to make this place better and more user-friendly.

Any feedback will be welcome!

I want to say that I liked the descission a lot - so that this forum is concentrated with Oblivion info and talk, as I also felt that the Discovery forum was more "active" in the non-Oblivion areas (Freelancer)...

As a slight criticism, or more a question - I'd like to know if you could add a way of changing the skin. The current one is good, but with a bit more to choose from, I just think it will be easier for members to personalize the board.

But it is a tiny thing, unnecessary - I just wondered, as I have a drop-down menu, avaivable to all members - on any page of the forum board, where they can change the skin. It is up to Igiss of course - just suggesting

I agree a selection of forum skins would be a nice addition to this already awsome lookin board, but also I would like to make a small suggestion: custom user titles - always a fun addition to any board. Thats my $.02 =]

I think you could have custom titles when you reach an ammount of posts - e.g. 100.

There's already such a drop-down menu at the very bottom of the page. Smiley Just 3 skins for now though.

I don't really know what other skins could be usable here. If you have suggestions - post here... free skins can be found at http://invisionize.com/

After checkin out that site i've come up with a few things that could possibly be usable and might spice up these forums a bit.

Mods:
Emoticons in fast reply
Custom profile fields (this could possibly be used for a custom user title, as i suggested in an earlier post)

Skins:
"Fantasy Heaven"
"Tower"
"MeltDown"

So, tell me what you guys think =]

Installing mods on a multi-skinned forum is not the best idea, and I don't think that smileys in fast reply are so important. More smileys = less text, which isn't good.

Custom profile fields are not user titles (and these fields, like titles, don't require any mods); custom user title will be, but only for those who reach certain post limit, which will be quite high.

As for skins, MeltDown is just black and Tower is dull (we've got it on Discovery), besides Tower is installed on Waiting4Oblivion forums and probably on some other Oblivion forums. As for Fantasy Heaven, screenshots don't show how it looks like, but I guess I might try to install it.

I've installed Fantasy Heaven, skin looks great... except for invisible icons for unread forums and logo, and I'm no good at image editing (in this case it's not even editing, somehow need to create a new logo).

Wow it does look great! The only notable issues with it are what you've mentioned and the gap in the member info area in each post caused by the wide buttons at the base.. I'll see if I can't change the size of em and maybe make a new logo with my photoshop skillz =p

EDIT:
Good, or Evil? You decide.. personally I prefer Evil  Cool

And some smaller buttons to make the border gap in the member info area smaller (approx 160px rather than 200)

Logo doesn't look correct though.

I've made some more edits about Automne skin - forum view with list of topics should look much better now. And changed logo too.

EDIT:
Also seems the PM button can be made the regular size now.. made it a couple pix smaller before to make it fit in with 160pix exactly..

new pm button

Background changed.

Many elements of this skin surely look great. Side panels and background for Quick Reply, for example.

I agree this skin looks awsome, fits right in with the Elder Scrolls, and especially Oblivion theme IMO.
The only defect I see now is the left hand side border isn't aligned properly, although both side borders are 80pix wide they just dont seem to match up.. weird. Maybe the background image on the left is slightly differnet? =s

EDIT:
Just to see what happens, maybe try replacing the left side border with this image and see..

EDIT 2:
Cool, it works =]

*loves this skin*

Fantasy Heaven does look great, but I do have some comments on it:

When you're writing a post, you can practically not see Bold, Italic, Underline, or Strikethrough buttons.

Besides that, in threads more than one page long, in the bottom this part looks rather out of place. Or rather the pink-thingied number 2 looks out of place...

Apart from that it looks great.  Grin

I use Fantasy Heaven as well now. It does indeed look pretty cool and suitable to Oblivion... but it could use some tweaking, like Xit said. And for some reason it starts out pretty low when I arrive at the forum. I need to scroll down a parch of black to reach the actualy forum, but when I actualy 'reach' a topic, it becomes normal. Odd.

The original skin Automne is one of the best skins ive seen to date. In my oppinion, Its the most adecuated as the default skin for this board.
But Fantasy heaven looks cool too. kind of dark... (Or maybe my monitor turned off and i didnt notice Tongue)

Much more than anyone of us has yet, I should say... more than 1000, we'll see later what the limit would be exactly.

I would just like to ask a question about the Automne V2 skin, was it made in Canada, I ask this because of all the red leaves, looks really cool but couldn't stop thinking about canada everytime i log in.

The Maple leaf on the left, apples and path with maples and a pine tree could well be south-eastern canada. Northern New-England (USA) as well. The presence of a pine tree means its probably not Northern France or England.

First I thought the web admin designed the logo himself! I'm very disapointed and I want my money back!!! Maybe we should have a contest - design your Cyrodil.net logo?

PS: I'm really a native Canadian btw, exiled to SEA.

Yes, my design skills are not very impressive. I wished to create own logo some time ago, but, again, there was not enough time.

I actually did post requests for help about forum graphics and logo, but no one responded. So I guess not many people would participate in a contest like this.

May upload the skin .psd for editing, if anyone's interested.
