hello everyone    Wink

i will be swift ...

i bought the Benirus Manor place.... i cleared the ghosts and killed that benirus undead guy and thus put an end to the haunting

the manor is now all nice and light up ... but

i cannot edit it with the Oblivion editor!!!!   Sad

i doesnt appear in the cell list for neither interior or exterior ! Huh

i only see the Haunted version, but NOT the cleared one !

and yes, i do have the last official patch and both game and editor are same version !

so...how do i see the non-haunted, the cleared verion of Benirus Manor in the TES Oblivion editor ?!?

thnx all

I haven't taken a look at this before, but this is a strange one.

When the manor was made, rather than it being made twice - one haunted, one beautiful - they combined both together. You'll notice that some of the furniture in the editor doesn't make any sense: theres a wardrobe sticking through a table, for example, and two different rugs on top of one another.

Some of this furniture is only visible after the quest is complete. Others are part of the haunted scenery.

You can figure out which parts of the furniture are which by double clicking on them, clicking on the enable parent tab and checking if the ending on the reference says 'benirusmanorref' or 'benirusmanorhauntedref'.

Obviously, you want to edit the first. If you add an object, be sure to select that reference.

I think thats the longest non-demontide post I've made on this forum!

hello and thnx a lot for the tips ....really helped me learn a lot

here is what i did :

placed a weapon ...a simple axe on the floor...went to the ENABLE PARENT tab ...

in CELL i chose AnvilBenirusManorHaunted and in REFERENCE i choose AnvilUpperClassInterior01'BenirusManorref....

basicly, i did EXACTLY what the two rugs have that makes them appear differently...

...but i still cannot see the axe in game ;((((   Angry

i was wondering if you would give it a try ....when and if you can...and if you succeed mabe you could describe me what you used and how ...

much appreciated and have a nice day

UPDATE

it works !    just drag and drop FROm THE WORLD menu !

see ya and thnx a lot

Short and fast question ----

If, after doing the quest to clear the Manor ....

...in Tes Editor, i m either removing/changing some objects with those double attributes (i.e. furniture, desk or a rug)...will i ruin the game or anything ?

or after i do the quest, i can go ahead and modify the manor as i see fit ?

thnx a lot, you are awesome

i do have modding expeirence from Morrowind, after creating a huge and nice mage hall with enigmatic pillars and ritual chamber ;P
but Oblivion is a bit different ...

thn a lot again

So long as you haven't saved from inside the manor, I don't think it matters. Of course, nothings stopping you from trying, since you can easily turn your custom made mods off if it does harm the game.

I doubt it will, though. Enjoy it!
