Note in anvil smithy

It said to go right go left if you see the house with the broken roof you've gone to far.
Its in Anvil Castle smithy. Is this rellevant to anything in the game.

No. There are a few notes like this in Oblivion, but none of them link to quests. The programmers probably intended them for quests, but never got round to it and forgot about the notes.

I think the programmers intended a bit of depth and realism with those notes. Not every mystery can be solved. If you don't have a starting point or frame of reference the note can't take you anywhere.

I kinda like having stuff like that in the game.

Theres one awesome one at the very top of white gold tower, in the battlemages (I think) quarters. I think they point vaguely to a treasure that you have to find yourself, because I did find a location that matched the description of the note.

But I may have just been lucky.

I've found these too in caves and such. I've tried to follow them before, but I'm not sure if they actually lead to anything or are something the Devs never finished.

I found the same note in teh Serpent's Wake.  No, no, it's a similar one, nevermind.  it says something about "have the money ready".  I think it's entertaining, of course.
