hello!

i'm trying to combine 2 mods and am not having any success.  i don't know enough about modding to fumble my way through it.  i downloaded some modding tools, but since i don't know where to look for exact changes, it didn't turn out to be very helpful.

i've always used "autoFloraHarvest" (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2053) and it works just fine for me.

i never finished the game when it came out, but decided to start over and play through it like i should have years ago now that my girlfriend is playing it too.

i see that there is a new mod called "Auto Harvest [FLORA]" (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4991).  the readme's first line read, "This mod is a compilation of the full version of Harvest[Flora] v2.1 by Dejunai and DragonFiresSG and my updated version of Auto flora harvest by Burningtoad."

there is now a newer version of "Harvest Flora" (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2037) that includes Frostcraig and more importantly Shivering Isles.  there was then an update to the Shivering Isles mod (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10330).

i'd like to do is what BurningToad or wdog did in combining the auto harvest capability and the flora disappearing.

i haven't entered the Shivering Isles yet, but my girlfriend has.  since she's used to auto harvest in Tamriel, she's not bothering to look for hotspots on the screen to pick up flora.  when i get there, i'll probably be doing the same thing with an auto harvest option.

can someone please help me out?

thanks!

I don't think I can give you much insight on this one.

I noticed that the newest version of the CS has "combine active mods" and "create difference of active mods" (or something like that) as new functions under the File menu but I've never used them.

As for figuring out which of the Flora mods is most up-to-date or has the best combination of changes... I'm not sure how to tell. I guess it depends on how detailed the readme file for each of them is. Beyond that, it's likely that there would be too many different changes between each file that it would be very difficult to figure out.

It seems like a mod to make the flora disappear completely when harvested would involve an object with 2 model version. A harvested version would just be a small speck, possibly even underground (so that you don't see anything in-game) and an unharvested version that looks like the original/vanilla model. It seems like that would just be a matter of replacing every instance of a regular plant with the new 'disappearing' version. I don't know if there's a way to do this automatically or not, otherwise it could be an extremely long and tedious process.

As for the auto-harvest thing, I'm not familiar with how that works. The ring must have a script, which means you'll have to look at the script directly to figure out how it works and what you might need to change to combine the two. The first link you gave seems to have a new version that already combines the two things you're talking about. It's just a matter of getting them to update for all the added regions you mentioned.

Hopefully someone else on the site can help you a little more but it looks like most of the issues you'll run into are specific to each mod you're combining. Good luck. I hope you get it working.

Would Wrye Bash work in this case? I don't really know how to use it as I've never tried to hazard through the instructions, but I think its whole purpose is to combine mods as you describe. I've only ever used it to fix hair meshes in my saved games when I inevitably reshuffle mods I'm using (a great way to generate errors, by the way), so I may be totally off-base here.  I'll post the link for you if you want to take a peek at it though.
