I am an avid mod-player, and I love combining mods to make them all work together and change the world to my liking. I recently came across two great mods, Mercenaries, and Jpms Miniature Necromancy. Both have things the other does not. JMN has inventory access to your 'henchmen' and is completely free of charge; however limited commands and ai make them rather useless for anything other than aesthetic or sentries that stay put.

Mercs have excellent ai, will patrol and wander, sleep etc. however you cannot customize their inventory and they cost money to maintain. I would like to remedy these problems in both mods by combining script from either of them. Thus, having smarter necromancer minions, and customizeable mercenaries.

I've been browsing the scripts of both of them, and I found the commands that dictate these actions... however i have no idea how to transfer these scripts in a wokring format to the other mod. Could anyone possibly help me with this? Any advice would be vastly appreciated!

I can post both scripts if that is necessary.

Well, that sounds more than a little complex.

It will likely be very similar to writing a new script from scratch, except you have the other two mods to look at for reference.

I'm not sure if anyone on here will be able to help you on this site but we definitely can't help you without the code. If you have time, please post it. I think only 2-3 of us have any experience with scripting (that I know of) but I'm sure we'll do what we can to help.

However, shouldn't mercenaries cost money? That's sort of the definition of mercenary: soldiers for hire. Just a suggestion. Maybe change prices, or make it a one-time purchase? In any case, it's your mod, do what you want.

Hi,

I realize this post is quite old, however I built the Tims Spells mod and thought I could lend a hand.

Recently I've been rebuilding the mod and hope to integrate some of the more popular spells into it.

I don't know everything about modding Oblivion but I'm a good at scripting and I think I can help out here.

I'll be creating a Create Undead spell soon, which function similar to JPMs, your welcome to copy the script and modify it to suit your needs.

There will be various other spells which allow you to capture, control and command NPC characters.

Link to Tims Spells.
