Are there any other games except for Morrowind and Oblivion where Jeremy Soule's music is used?

I've recently got my hands on soundtracks for both. Should say that the music is beautiful, and quite versatile. While playing Morrowind, I somehow thought that only about 3 or 4 "peaceful" themes are present. Appears that there are more. Oblivion soundtrack, although first seemed just re-make of Morrowind music, contains a few great themes that are brand new (most notably, Wings of Kynareth - who is it? - and Auriel's Ascention). Still didn't enjoy the battle music, btw, even though it got better since Morrowind.

On a side note, presence of soundtracks removed my last temptation that forced me to play Oblivion from time to time... and it remains unknown whether I'll ever complete the game after all.

The soundtracks made you NOT want to play?

Simple logic: if you play only to listen to music, getting soundtrack screws the whole play Smiley

Restated another way: If you only like the music and you don't need to play the game to listen to the music then there's no need to play the game.

Well, not really sit back.

I tried to do something, like exploring the wilderness, but where Morrowind had actual wilderness, in Oblivion you always stumble upon something that's not really that wild. And beyond, there are mountains, and edge of the world.

Anyway, we are way offtopic... are there any other soundtracks by Soule, good ones?

I'm not big on Soundtracks, so I don't know how good they are personally, but the Jeremy Soule website CD section lists 2 Soundtracks for Guild Wars and 1 for Dungeon Siege II listed there. On DirectSong, apparently the official source for any of his music, there are 4 Guild Wars soundtracks, 2 for Prey, Dungeon Siege II, Warhammer - Mark of Chaos, Supreme Commander, Oblivion, and Morrowind.

If you're not a big fan of his battle music, you might want to check out Prey first and then maybe some of the Guild Wars soundtracks have non-battle music. There are a few sample tracks for each album right on the website.

I like the idea they had for Expansion Packs just for the music of the games. It would be cool to add "Official" new music to a game to spice it up. Unfortunately, they only have one for Guild Wars. If they were going to do an add-on for Oblivion, it would have come out much closer to the release of the last of the Official expansions or maybe even with GOTY. By now, the market isn't exactly ripe for selling lots of Oblivion add-on music.... not to mention that with the ease of modding they'd probably sell even less with modder-pirates simply passing copies of the mod around under different names or mixed with their own content.

Add-ons with new music could be a good idea. Especially for MMORPGs that people play for months and even years. When music is all the same, even if it's good (remembers City of Villains), it really gets boring on some point. It's not about removing old music but rather adding more diversity.

Problem is budget... composers are (almost) never part of the studio that'smaking the game, and while generic game updates are done by other team members as part of their everyday job, for each piece of music the publisher has to pay. And quite a lot. And even more if it's a celebrity like Soule. That's probably the reason why it's rare.
