Why are the competitions in this Forum all screenshot ones

I mean why cant you ask questions about the elder scrolls or stuff like that all the competiitions are picture ones what about people that dont have a pc. Why dont you do like story competitions like who can write the best story about TES. Or like quizes.

Sorry to Rant but I mean Id like to enter the screensghot ones but my Good Pc broke so All I got is a an xbox and this cruddy pc. (which oblivion does not work on.)

SO im Asking for you to do more varied competitions than just screenshot ones

Well, really, this is all the same competition with a new theme every week.

I see what you're saying, though. I'm not sure what kind of competition like that we could do. If I was going to ask questions about the game lore, I'd probably be researching the questions up online, making the answers just as easy find for the users.

As for writing stories, that could be difficult to make into a competition, since it's even more subjective and takes longer to do than taking screenshots would.

I'll try to keep thinking of a contest that only requires your mind and these forums to enter... but off the top of my head, it's difficult for me to imagine. Any additional suggestions would be appreciated.

How about an Oblivion Crossword? Those answers wouldn't have to be easy to find, and we could say the the winner is the first one to submit the answers?

That would be doable.

Oh, wait. I was thinking of Oblivion word-search. Those are easier to make, I think. haha. The only question would be whether or not to list the words that are included or just say tell the players how many words there are, since the theme is already clearly defined and limited.


As for a crossword... That could be a challenge to make; difficult but doable.

I can tell you right now, I don't want to be responsible for making them all. I can help organize it and maybe make a few of them but I don't want to carry the full load on this one.


Would anyone be interested in participating in a word search or crossword type of competition? Would anyone else like to help create the games or help run it?

Or, instead of the Manipulation Contest being all the weight of the manipulation part, we could reduce it to just being the Caption Contest. I could provide unique screenshots, and the only thing you would have to do is come up with an interesting caption to go along with it. At least then it wouldn't be at a complete standstill.

Much easier to organize and nothing extra required for participants. I'd say that fits the description of a competition we could really use around here.

Great! So, if there are no objections, I'll get right on it. I'll whip up a quick batch of rules for this new contest, a few screenies, and then we have to discuss how long the submission period should be, etc.

i'll help with any puzzle/word game ideas. in the mean time, i'll be brainstorming. i can think of at least two types that would be pretty simple to create....but would present enough of a challenge to any competitor.

any screenie forum topics....please keep in mind that some of us must suffer with dial up connections (don't even get me started, it's not available in my area yet....local legal fight...sigh)....so lots of screenies within one forum takes forever to load....and i'm sure i'm not the only one that might be viewing these on freaking dial up. as with web design, you must build for the lowest denominator, not the highest.
