Well, they're supposed to be excepts from much longer books. I can't remember if they all do it but I think they use ellipses (...) before and/or after the text in many of the books to show this. At least, that's the idea behind how they get out of writing entire novels (which very few people would read) instead of the nice snippets we got instead.

i dont realy read the books much coz it kinda makes my eyes sore
thats why i cant read some of DM's long posts.... no offense or anything...

If you use firefox, you can hold the control key and use the scroll wheel on your mouse to make the text larger. I usually also highlight the text as I read it, which seems to help. (ctrl+0 will reset the text to normal size).

Unfortunately, there's nothing much you can do about Oblivion books except maybe read them online, outside the game. The Imperial Library seems to have quite a few books available. It might even have them all by now.

Yeah I actually think Imperial Library is better for Books and Lore than UESP.
I don't like their forum tho...
