I excluded Athleticism, Acrobatics, Mercentile, and Sneak for obvious reasons.

I think Restoration is the hardest out of those skills to raise. Marksman is a close second though. Raising Security without breaking locks purposely is also obnoxious to raise.
Gotta have that perfect "0 locks broken" ; )

Yeah, Mercantile is impossible and the others on the exclusion list are easy.

I chose hand-to-hand mostly because I wouldn't have the patience to walk around armed only with my fists all the time. When your hand-to-hand is low, it can take forever to take out an enemy.

I excluded Sneak because it was terribly easy, and wouldn't even be up for debate. As for Acrobatics and Athleticism, I included those because they would be voted for simply because it takes enormous amounts of time to raise them. (much like Mercantile)

I'm rather surprised that you chose Hand To Hand, actually. I thought it was very fun to raise, and I've mastered it several times on different files because I thought it was interesting. Obviously one of the weakest forms of offense, but I thought it was funny to punch somebody and see huge globs of blood appear on the ground. haha It's like Mortal Kombat or something.

Except for the occasional Destruction fireball, I do nothing but heal myself all the time, so Restoration was never on my list of difficult skills, though any form of magic can take quite a while to train.

If you run and jump everywhere you go, Acrobatics and Athleticism seem to take care of themselves. If you don't set them to at lease a secondary skill, they'll go slower, of course.

I think the only skill not up for debate is mercantile. You can buy and sell everything in the game twice and still not max it out. It's just so tedious. I want to invest in a couple stores... but I don't see that ever happening, since you have to be a master of mercantile for that.

Yeah, I hate that skill so much lol. I have 500 hours on one of my game files, and I only have that skill at 60 points. Everything else is maxed at 100, then there's that pesky Mercantile at 60. lol

I voted Marksman, because the problem with that is you can never get something lasting to practice on. You only get a few shots before your opponent is dead, and then what? Marksman is one of my major skills, and it's still only on level 66.

I've been going up in mercantile through training, whenever I don't need it in anything else. At level 26 I just got past Journeyman... lifes a lot easier when you can sell what you want. I think I must have levelled about 5 times from actually selling stuff. Tongue

I confess that I cheated with Peryite's unkillable followers to get my hand-to-hand and blunt up to apprentice. From then on, neither are too hard to level up in.

Speechcraft is easy - play the speaking game thing without intending to win. Sure, they won't like you, but who does?

I think for me, it has to be magic. I'm a very weak magic player - it lacks the tactics of being a stealth character, and the fun of being a combat character. Maybe not in destruction, but in the self-heavy schools. I can never remember to keep defending myself, or I keep using potions when I have a perfectly good heal power.

I really don't know... All Magic skills just depend on how much you cast spells... Light/Heavy Armor is as cake jsut wear it. Block just press alt.  Blade/Blunt just use the weapon. Security do the Thieves guild questline. Hand to Hand, Act like jackie chan Tongue. Alchemy, act like panoramix.  That would keep Marksman indeed. THough I don't find it particularly hard... Just get many arrows... and kill everyone in the arena with a bow.
