Which mods?

This question is probably been asked elsewhere in the forums, but thought id start a new one anyway.
Was wondering which mods you would reccomend. I have the official ones, and would like to try the many player made ones that are out there but dont want to download a load of rubbish that messes up my pc.
Main thing i want to accomplish is to change the levelling mechanics so that levelled items, level with you rather than having to wait till im level 30+ before doing some of the quests with levelled rewards.
Sorry if i made a new post unneccasarily.

Look out for OOO (Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul) and MMM (Martigen's Monster Mod). they mess about with the level lists to accomplish something resembling your wishes. They've been made compatable with one another but that requires some extra work and reading to figure out how. Namely, Martigen made his mod compatable with OOO.
Theres also the Quest Award Leveller, which levels the vanilla levelled items to correspond to your own level.

Thanks, ive tried two mods so far, one was the quest reward leveller, the other was a leveller diary, which lets you know what skills you have raised the current level. The first one caused the game to keep reseting after it loaded up, and the second one loaded but made the game buggy and jumpy.
I have oblivion game of the year version, havent updated it but its fairly new (2 months) so think it should be ok, could the mods be out of date? or have i done it all wrong?
Thanks.
