After completing the Shivering Isles main quest, I left and did a few quests in Tamriel, namely the Sheogorath's Shrine quest, with the raining dogs. After I got the Wabbajack, I wanted to go back to the SI and rule over them as the Madgod for a bit, but when I got to Crucible, there was a large section of the floor that was just gone. At first I thought that this might be a result of completing the shrine's quest, but when I went back to a saved game before I did it, the floor was still gone. I have no idea how to fix this, and the floor doesn't reset when I re-entered the cell.

This is what it looks like.

So, does anyone know how to help me?

Can you walk on it, or do you fall through?

You fall through, and walk around under the houses and everything. You can't go back up without using the console.

I'm not sure what could be wrong. I've had land disappear near the imperial city, but I could still walk on it. (It had something to do with a mod I installed. I recently reinstalled Oblivion completely so I didn't really look for any simple fixes.) I've also had parts of interior cells disappear because the cell had a duplicate ID# as another cell... but this doesn't seem to be either. It sounds like there wasn't even an outside mod involved.

Whatever it is, it might have permanently deleted that section of the ground somehow. Another possibility is that the ground was moved upward in that cell somehow, since you can't see the flip side of a surface.

You might just have to uninstall and reinstall SI... or maybe, get your character to a save point in Cyrodiil, then reload without SI. You might not even need to save with the esp disabled, just try to jolt the system into reading that data carefully when you reactivate it?? I don't know. I'm too tired to think straight. Let us know what else you come up with.

I've had land disappear as well, and I fixed it by changing the order in which the game loads the mods. Do you have any SI mods?

No, I just have the official SI mod, but I did install some new mods since leaving after the main quest, and when I came back the ground was gone. I'll try disabling the mods one at a time to see which one messed it up. Thanks for your help, everyone, I'll let you know if I fix it.

Hopefully that will fix it. There's a chance, however, that the changes/errors the mod made can't be fixed just by turning them off. The mod that messed up the land around Cyrodiil in my game couldn't be undone just by turning it off. My guess is that it added a mesh to the data folder somewhere that overwrites (takes precedence over) the standard data for the ground in that spot. I have no idea how or why but that seemed to be the case.

Wow... strange. The problem seems to have fixed itself. Upon loading Oblivion, I fast travelled to Bliss, entered Crucible and the cell was back. I didn't do anything apart from not fast travel to Cruible, like I did the other times. Maybe it was just a glitch that reset after Oblivion re-loaded. Thanks, anyway!

EDIT: But it happened again when I fast travelled to Deepwallow.. grrr.

EDIT 2: It appears that after I save and reload Oblivion and travel back to the place with the broken floor that it will be fixed.. at least I know it's not permanent, it's just slightly annoying. Oh well.
