Conjuration
«

hi im new here, im not a professional at oblivion. I managed to pass all main&guild quests, become a leader of all guilds and sorts but i still know very little about the game.
i played vanilla version and added OOO mod later, along with the unofficial patch.
even with all this things i cant find one thing usefull, and thats conjuration.
since i got bored passing the game 10 times i started creating as unusual characters as i could imagine.
one didnt really work and that was the illusionist-conjurer.
the whole idea of stepping into the arena, casting a frost atronarch and making yourself invisible was what i had dreamed of.
playing an invisible and powerful puppeteer would bring me lots of hours of fun. The only bad side was that the powerful atronarch i myself had great trouble beating was weak against members of the arena. I had to cast , like, 12 times to pwn my enemies.
so what im asking is if there is a mod that balances conjuring? I think its very unbalanced since:
1) the NPCs almost never attack the summon first
2) school of destruction is not only 2X faster at killing, but 10X faster
3) you get to summon only one servant, is there no mod that adds an army?

Unsure of mods or anything of that sort, but I guarantee you if you mastered conjuration at LV. 1 you wouldn't be complaining. XD It's hilarious. You summon a Frost Atranach and it simply backhands any of the level 1 dependent enemies and they just die and go flying in one hit. lol
I'll try to help you without giving advice on mods though. I'd say if you want to make conjuration more effective, you should pair it with something else. Like for instance, if you want to use a substitute for destruction, you could buy the Staff of Apotheosis in the Imperial City Market District. Or, if you want to go out of your way, you could try training in some illusion to work around with invisibility spells. Meaning you could summon a monster, then flee into invisibility (also while entering sneak mode of course) while your monster fights an enemy, or several enemies. You probably won't get hurt this way, so I'd think it'd work out effectively. As for a monster I'd recommend, maybe you should try out using the Clannfear summon, or maybe something else that's quick and will get to your enemies fast. Just open up your mind. There are plenty of ways to completely kick ass at this game.

well my main problem is that i don't want to be lvl 1 all the time, i know its uber and all that but I installed OOO mod for the very reason of playing the game it was meant to be played.
I casted all kinds of creatures but somehow they simply die too fast without damaging high lvl combatants. Mind that im lvl 15. and have both conjuration and illusion on 80-90 lvl.
I started applying alteration and restoration to boost my minions health and damage but its frankly worth crap.
No....i tried lots of things... unless there is a bug i could abuse to make mega strong summons i really need a mod.

I guess... just, use the Staff of Apotheosis with your summoning? The more you level up, the weaker your summons will be against enemies. Remember that. That's why conjuration is so insanely powerful at Lv. 1 hence the reason why I mentioned the Lv. 1 tactic. Of course, you'd have to completely start over to do that and I'm sure that's why you're against it (along with "playing the game the right way" as you mentioned). Conjuration isn't all that reliable unless you can hide yourself from combat and somehow heal yourself in the process preferably.

Hes right lower lvl conjuration does more damage. id start with that and work up.

You can buy more summons in Shivering Isles? To be honest i didn't even know Shivering Isles was big enough to house spells Merchants (Like the Mages Guild)

My conjurer character never really did amazing but once you get the high level summons you're well off, i should start playing as a mage again sometime soon.

The only time i actually use conjuration is when I'm doing that smart-leveling thingy or whatever it is, but mostly I just buy conjuration spells coz they look cool.
To be honest, I find conjuration completely useless in battle
