Does anyone else think this but is Fallout3's parental rating outrageous?
In NZ it is R18!!! Way too old for me. and the only warning is                graphic violence
                                                                                                     offensive language

no worse than oblivion...

I thought that Australia is the land of game rating terrorists.

Read that it's because of Australia they are removing drug usage from the game, in all regious... or, to be precise, they make it look less like taking actual drugs but taking some neutrally futuristic substance instead.

Yeah they were but sport has strangely changed all that. Since our current All Blacks (rugbyteam not being racist) coach got our worst ever result at the World Cup and we let our best coach go to Australia we have adopted a bit of Australian culture including game rating terrorism, heck our game rating fallas are aussie owned now!

yeah...but over here M means anyone can get it really, but R18 means that you HAVE to be 18 to get it-thats what happened with the latest Grand Theft Auto game.
the only way we could get it is if our parents get it....maybe we should try grovelling or sucking up or something.

Yup...M over here means you can purchase it as long as you don't go aroung killing people with guns and whatnot...
I might wait until is actually released on thursday to see if R18 is the actual rating-or was that just the poster.
They seem to be alot easier in USA when I was there last month GTA4 was only R15 whilst over here its R18.

R stands for
restricted to persons the age of or over the age of:
So i don't know  for sure but I think thats it coz theyre trying to sound all fancy without going RTPTAOOOTA18
and the reason the dairy owners are gettin guns coz they keep on getting shot-but i think thats coz the dodgier dairy owners refuse to give the gangsters "the good stuff" and what not.
DM is michigan dodgy or som'n cause who in their right mind gives 11 and 12 year olds 9mms!?
and whats happened DM's posts have dropped from 995 to 800?

I was just joking about the guns of course... but yeah, some parts of Michigan can get a little rough. Detroit tends to get on a lot of top 10 lists of negative things. (unemployment, obesity, etc.)

Hmm. I didn't notice that my post count dropped. That's very odd. Maybe it can't handle the extra digit of 1000 posts... wait. I wasn't at 900 something posts. Earlier today I was at 797. You had me confused for a minute. If it hits 801 when I post this, everything is working just fine.

[Edit: Yup, it's working fine. Either you remembered wrong or there was an error that put me up to 995 temporarily that was fixed.]

Oooh....knowing my memory it could've been that-though it probably was an error.
What you said of Detroit reminds me of South Auckland AKA "the hood".
There was 7 murders in 8 weeks in 1 area of South Auckland Shocked....anyone relate to that?

o.o
WTF!
yeah i've seenwhat i've thought to be drug deals in a few flats close to our school(i'm at the age when i'd go to middle schoo but we live in a small town BTW). The town that we live in isn't dodgy but everyone thinks they are "Gangstas Cool".
heh i imagine that in a game-being a skinny white boy going to get bashed by mobsters and then ripping them apart with a knife- Smiley.
In a city not to far away tthe cops are doing a big methanephetamine bust and a Paedoliphe from that city got murdered outside a chicken farm on to the road of Foxton Beach a kilometre or so from where we live.
Can i make a request?
*DM says yes*
we should put a world map on here and people should put where they live for us nosy people over here?! Smiley

huh...it's weird how the conversation changes
from Fallout 3 ratings to drug deals and scary people-VERY scary people
i like the idea of a world map too, because as you should all know by now us Southern Hemispere people are pretty nosy

I'll look into the map idea... but there are potential issues. If you want to talk about it, make a new topic in "Site & Board Feedback".

Lets keep this topic about the game Fallout 3, not about post-apocalyptic neighborhoods near your house.

Well, maybe prepare for a true apocalypse and gain friends among those folks? They have better chances to survive Smiley

Ok, back to topic. The game will start selling in some regions today or tomorrow, and we should soon be getting the reviews. I won't count pre-release reviews that have obviously been purchased much like ads...

ARGH! I still gotta wait another couple of days the stores in the region of NZ i'm in don't get F3(yes we've got an abbrev. now Smiley) for another couple of days Angry
The pre-reviews are good-but I'm expecting Bethesda wouldn't of told the public something to suprise us they seem like those sort of people and no doubt if i'm right that suprise would be big- did anyone hear if you can get different races or any thing???
I can't find anything on that side of things...

I think its mostly about the gore. I know in oblivion there was Svenga's arms and legs. But it wasnt that bad. But yeah it should be like 16+

BTW in the american version kids can get K O'd in the UK version you just always miss and you cant go into vats with them.

anyways my mom lets me get the game so she obviously doesnt mind i like it its a good game.
