Noob needs help!

  Hello

I was trying to start the modding TES counstrction set program and and i followed the instuctions on http://www.cyrodiil.net/html/mods.html. They told me to go onto data and to use the file oblvion esm. I tried that but it says the file is to big to use or something like that. They say it is outside the limit of exe to use. Any idears to get the mod material i need without having to do that?

P.S. If i posted this in the wrong place  plz dont be pissed i spen ages trying to find right place to post and this was best place i could find.

So, you opened TES CS and clicked "file/data..." . Then you clicked the first entry (Oblivion.esm | Master File) so that there was an 'X' next to it, then clicked "OK" and that's when you got the error message?

Make sure you didn't try to "Set as Active File" and don't click on "Details...". It won't let you set it as an active file because because it is the source data. Clicking on Details opens a needlessly huge file that often takes way too long, especially for Oblivion.esm.

Unless I'm misreading this, it sounds like you've done everything right. The only other thing I can think of is that maybe you don't have enough memory on your computer to handle all the data. I'm not sure what the minimum requirements are but it has to store and process a lot of information to run properly.

If you think of anything else that might help us figure it out, post it here, please.

Tahnks for advice, i tired it again says same thing. I have 2 gigs of RAM so it should be working fine. The exact words are "Oblvion.esm is a higer version than this EXE can load."

wait got i working. Foranyone else who has this problem. Downlaod version 1.2 and then the patch.

I was about to say that, as soon as you said the part about "higher version". Thanks for letting us know how you got it working.
