They need to be in the folder C:\Documents and Settings\...[your computer/user name]...\My Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Saves

Obviously, "...[your computer/user name]..." needs to be replaced with whatever account you are logged on to the computer as.

Other than that, I'm not sure what else could be wrong.

Well that's really odd.

Just in case your Oblivion is looking for the saves in a different folder... go into Oblivion and create a new save with a really strange name and then find out where it puts it. Maybe a setting is messed up somewhere and it's saving to a different folder.

Aaah.. thats a shame-have you tried double clicking on the saves that show up in the folder? It should open up the save game-if you have already tried that I'd have no idea where they are. Do what DM said and if it doesn't show up check your save settings.

Thats good... I think losing your saves for good is worse than overwriting your lvl15 char. who has Rosethorn Hall and then realizing your most recent save was lvl2,

Well, this probably won't help, but I had a strange problem with saves after one of the crashes I described here:

http://www.cyrodiil.net/forums/index.php/topic,1926.msg12970/topicseen.html#msg12970

The crash happened instantly after I quicksaved.

Then, after game re-launch, it crashed to desktop instantly on attempt to enter the item of main menu where saved games are stored. On attempt to "continue game", it displayed warning that save was created for 0.00 version of the game instead of 1.*. Don't remember what version exactly I have, but it's a gold edition, so there are no patches to install for it.

I opened the saves folder, and the file with the latest save appeared to be absolutely OK - it had normal size etc. But after I deleted it, the issue was gone. Oblivion seems to be sensitive about saves. A bit more than it should be.
