Confused in Miscarcand????? HELP!!!!

Hi, I just started playing the game & I stumbled upon this group. Now, I am in Miscarcand, which is apparently an Elven Ruin. Anyway, 1st, I would like to know what this is,



& how do I get it?

2nd, as for both this gate,

where do I get the lever(s) to open them? Please advise, thanks.

Without spoiling the quest, for the first, you may have to runthrought the next bit to find a press stone. The second gate, try jumping down and searching. The thing hanging form the ceiling? (I think that's what you meant) is a light with Welkynd crystals, and you can't get it, sorry!

Yeah, someone told me it was quest-related, but I don't want to bother w/ the main quest, so I left.  Thanks.  They also told me that is just a light fixture which I can't get.
