So, I realise that most of you have already got Oblivion, but will you ever return to playing Morrowind?

Surely Oblivion is a large step forward, but TES III was a great game too... so, what's your opinion? I'd actually return one day, after playing Oblivion of course. Too many good memories to miss.

I started playing Morrowind again while waiting for Oblivion to be released. Now iv'e experienced Oblivion's awsomeness i'm afraid Morrowind doesn't really compare. One day in the distant future I might give it another go though, only time will tell.

I most likely won't go back due to the lack of fast travel.  It has to be one of the best additions to Oblivion from Morrowind.  I do miss my levitation though. Sad

I wouldn't want to spend my money on such a relatively old game, and you guessed it - I don't have it, so no - I am satisfied with the vast wonderfulness of Oblivion....

I want to play Morrowind, becourse untill I get a hardware upgrade I can't run Oblivion. However, I don't have in installed, and my CD is seriously crooked (in way that it's all scratched from playing it too much, and storing it wrong, e.g. on top of the TES builder cd), so I'll need a new copy of Morrowind first. As it's not in the stores anymore, I'll have to order it online... oh well, I think I'll enjoy Morrowind for a long time to come...  Smiley

Yes. Most likely I will play it. Ive heard that it is a great game, and graphics are quite decent for today standards... So once done with oblivion ill give it a try.

As you have already paid for it you could just download it from emule or similar. It wont be law infringement because you already bought the game.. i think.

Well, I've already played the game, but it just lacked everything that makes oblivion so fun. In morrowind combat was a bore, just click click click click "o wow i randomly got a block in" click click click....

Although i will admit morrowind had much more lore than oblivion. The people had much more intresting things to say, and there were alot more books.

I'll return to Morrowind at one point or another. Too much fun not to. Smiley

KaSiB II BaSiK: I actually think the combat in Oblivion is just the same, just stand still and go click, click, click. And that's that. Nothing else to it.

I broke it back out in anticipation for Oblivion.  Morrowind truly is a great game.  Even better are the website Images for it.  People have posted pics of the most amazing things.  Type morrowind in goolge and do image search.  I got all the to Hortor but got tired of the endless traveling.  Its great to search the imgs on google because you I see the world I missed.  Like this dragon!  If you do play it, play the PC version and get the mods that go with it.  its just not as great unless you have the mods.

I never got anywhere in Morrowind.  I had no idea what to do after I joined a guild and such, but after playing Oblivion, I have a better understanding on how to do at least something.

I have already played morrowind whilst playing oblivion just to compare the two games. But i dont think i will go play it and finish the whole game again. I hate some of the quests in Oblivion, the boring ones like "go into this haunted house and kill ghosts and get my precious ring back". Why dont they go do it themselves the lazy !@#$  Angry Although if everyone did things themsleves, you would'nt have anything to do. I went a bit off subject there sorry  Undecided

Morrowind and Oblivion seem to be different in many ways, so playing Oblivion does not necessarily means that Morrowind (and expansion packs) should be forgotten. So if I'll have time, I'll surely play more Morrowind. Many Morrowind quests remain uncompleted, and I didn't even visit Solstheim with any of my primary characters.

I doubt if I will ever go back to Morrowind again, the highest level I was able to get in Morrowind was four. I will admit though that were more types of weapons and armor in Morrowind than in Oblivion. and there were a whole lot more towns. I read in a magazine that the next elder scrolls would ship next year.
So mabye that will bring the scale of Morrowind, and the fun and beauty of Oblivion, together to create the ultimate uber RPG

Morrowind, is some serious RPG fun, I like it sooooooo much. Only thing I dislike is the graphics. Their not bad but after playing Oblivion for such a while it hurts to go back to Morrowinds visuals

May I suggest adding the poll answer option: Yes, No and "ARRRRGH! MY EYES!"

And that my friend is why the console was invented.

*OFF TOPIC*
quick question, how good are the visuals on X-box 360, is it worth investing in one?
*BOT*

I tryed playing morrowind last night but, after a little while say 15 minutes, I stopped playing, unable to continue. For every minute I spent playing Morrowind, I thought I wish that they did it like Oblivion, in the end I thought, WHY NOT JUST STICK WITH OBLIVION.
So I wish I could now change my vote to NO I will not play Morrowind again, My love for that game is just not enough to keep me tied down to it.

I prove myself wrong, yet again. I put that down to all the hype Oblivion instilled in me after such a big build-up and an equally big wait; it made Morrowind pale into insignificance.

I still give Morrowind a few slogs now and then, I use it as a reprieve from playing Oblivion so much. It just has such a satisfying feel to it, something I can't really explain. Still quite an original and unique game even after all these years.

I've gone back to morrowind and I'm working on some huge mods to bring it back into the lime light. Oblivion just left out a little too much that Morrowind had. If you wish to see or help with my current work in progress for morrowind, check my post here.

I mod for it, I play it.
Right now I'm on not playing it though, I prefer to wait for Fliggerty's combat overhaul, it'll give the game a more Oblivion style combat, with improvements, such as player controlled blocking, improved AI, and power attacks.

LOL I still Play Morrowind, I guess it's like this Morrowind is Home and Oblivion is just a place to go hang out for a few. Oblivion was a huge letdown for me. I really hope TES V will be better if not well I guess like so many games out there Morrowind will be the last in the series I play.
