I found it quite hard but then I remembered the good old days and the one which makes me feel nostalgic is Morrowind
The world is so much bigger than morrowind and i feel like there's so much more too it. Correct me if I'm Wrong

Dont get me Wrong. Oblivion is  my second favourite game then spyro, then syphonphilter.

but anyways. CHOOSE!!

Okay I chose Oblivion, but that is because I haven't really played Morrowind. When I started Morrowind I found things a little hard to understand, and I found that it was harder to make money and buy weapons and armour and stuff. But I did only play for ten minutes, and I don't really know about the Questline so really, I shoudn't even have voted. But I did. So there!!  Tongue

For me, it was a pretty close match. Even though I enjoy Oblivion an will continue to stick with it and mod for it, I had to go with Morrowind for my vote.

I think the 2 main factors that push it over the edge are the story and the fact that enemies are NOT leveled to the player.

For the story, it made much more sense from a role-playing, free-roam standpoint. The main story was interesting but not completely urgent and time sensitive in Morrowind. In Oblivion, the world is about to end if you don't carry out your mission as quickly as possible. If you're immersing yourself into the world, you can't, in good conscience, casually explore the world and see the sights while demon gates open to destroy entire cities. So, you rush through the main quest like a good hero should and you don't get to really enjoy the world you're living in. Once you're done with that, you're exploring the land as a famous hero, not a random adventurer. You don't want to go from hero of all Tamriel to someone who solves extremely minor problems for villagers and mid-level guild leaders, am I right? It's anti-climactic.

In the same way, when the world revolves around you, by leveling with you (as in Oblivion) it takes away some of the challenge and strategy. What's the point of even leveling up much when every enemy you run into will be equally easy/difficult to kill. In Morrowind, I got off the boat and tried to go into a nearby cave. A simple encounter with 1-2 bandits was too much for me. I had to run for my life. I came back later, after some training and leveling, and I got through the cave alive. It was an accomplishment at that point, rather than just another loot-run. You think twice about running around hacking and slashing when you're not sure to survive any and every encounter.

I also miss Morrowind bartering but that's a minor point, really.

Oblivion graphics and fighting controls with a Morrowind-style world would be ideal... and that's quite possible via modding. You can pick and choose many of the pieces by using existing mods, if you can find the right combination.

Morroblivion only converts the land, not the quests, NPCs, or anything else important to the story. Also, I don't necessarily want to re-play Morrowind with Oblivion graphics and controls. I just like the mood and style they managed to create.

I love both games but Morrowind gets my vote. I can only agree with DM that the main quest in Oblivion rushes you along, and ignoring the story takes you out of the game world so to speak.
In Morrowind I feel much more like I have been dumped into an existing world and for the most part the game doesn't really care if I'm there or not. Oblivion centers on you all the time, even with its radiant AI schedules and your role as the actual hero's (Martin's) sidekick.

Oblivion gets my vote.
Mainly because I hardly played Morrowind.
Though I did like the fact that you could join the Legion.
The storyline in Oblivion isnt great. Well the story is good its just the relativly short length of the story that gets me Sad
Still Oblivion that gets my vote though.

I LOVE MORROWIND!!!! I like it's graphics better (hey, they were good for thier time!!!) I like the Quests better, the way you can kill someone even if they arepart of the storyline, unlike Oblivion where they just go unconcious. I like the architecture better, the creatures and the wonderful mysteries. I have been playing for 8 years and still finding new stuff!!!!
