Yup - Oblivion is not a MMORPG, it is a RPG, and even though some people fail to see difference, there is a BIG difference. I'd never compare a game like Morrowind or Oblivion to a game like World of Warcraft or Everquest

I played EQ1 since beta, and continued to play it for around 7 years. I then also played EQII since release and they have made many excellent changes. Recently they opened a new PvP server. I am the guild leader of Twilight Horde, a new young guild on the server.

If Diablo 2 counts, I still do play that every once in a while.

But no MMO has really excited me since Ultima Online and my old, old days of Nexus. Nexus was a pretty kick ass game, if I do say so myself. Guild Wars was good fun for a couple of weeks, and I'll probably pick it up again when the expansion comes out. That is, if I'm finished with Oblivion by that time.

Ultima Online is a great game. Did you play on OSI originally? Also, played any freeshards of late?
I started playing on OSI then went to a freeshard called Athlore shortly after. Great memories.

Think i should point out here that RPG or Role play game and MMORPG Massivly Multiplayer Online Role Play Game is that makes it the diffrence. Likely your confustion came from not understanding the abbrivation.

Previously I have played a lot of MMO's As i mention in my "welcome" I have moved and can no longer get BB only Dial up so im stuffed really.  I wont go into them all but the one I played and enjoyed the most in its hey day was Dark Age of Camelot.  I played this game on and off (mostly on!!) for about 3 years and I raised a fair few lvl 50 toons (which is the cap).  In look its quite similair to Oblvion.  Just obviously more dated.  It has a fantastic blend of PVP and PVE.  Including training battle grounds where you can take part in keep defence/raiding from as low as lvl 9 all the way up to real real versus realm at lvl 50.  I really miss this game and the freinds and campanions I made while playing it.  Sadly these days so many of the players have moved on (to world of warcraft, Star wars Galaxies and EQ2 etc) that the server populations are a little low.  A proliferation of "buff bots" effectively killed the game and it did not help that the Devs helped support it by making it easier to run 2 acounts on one comp.

The good news is the people behind what is my favourite MMO of all time are the people behind the up and coming Warhammer Online game.  Fingers crossed that make such a good job of it and fingers crossed someone gets round to laying some cables to my street !!!!
