Four videos related to Skyrim sound design have recently appeared on Gameinformer.com. The videos feature Mark Lampert, Bethesda's sound designer and audio director, talking about the audio experience that players will encounter in the upcoming The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

The videos showcase the Centurion Sphere (and sounds created for it), a remarkable Morrowind dwemer creature that wasn't seen in Oblivion. A new spell named Iron Flesh is heard, and the sounds created for the Dragons, along with some gameplay mechanics related to those sounds, are being discussed. Max von Sudow is heard voicing some of the lines for Esbern, the Blade who serves as player character's tutor and advisor:

I used to dream of it; in the dream I was standing someplace high up - a tower or a mountain.
It was always just before dawn and the whole world was in darkness.
Then came the flash of light just on the horizon, within the clouds that mark the border between the worlds.
It could've been lightning, but there was no thunder.
In the dream, the sense of foreboding grew, but I could never wake up.
Then it came again, this time more distinct, closer; definitely not lightning.
Now it was orange, brilliant orange, the color of hearth, and dawn.

Score for the game was composed by Jeremy Soule who's been working on The Elder Scrolls music since Morrowind times (and created extremely successful soundtracks, so we should not expect any less for Skyrim). The main theme of the game was already heard in the trailer video, and it's clear that the Elder Scrolls main theme from previous games was used as its foundation. Viking-style choir was added to emphasize the Northern feel of Skyrim, along with the "colossal" drums.

Tech details
Sounds exciting! I'm looking forward to the new facial animations, as well as the radiant quests. Skyrim sounds a hell of a lot more RP friendly.
It is also worth noting that the image on the bethblog article about it labels the picture as 'Markarth01'. Are these the ruins of Markarth Side?

We might be getting a Hubdate every working day until February? There was one on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Monday, so why can't there be more today and tomorrow and the next day, etc, etc.
