glow effects

Okay so I made some enchanted items via the construction set for my character. Nothing fancy or uber. I also have some that I have gathered while playing. Anyways when I equip then I get this stupid glow effect on my character. She glows purple. It is annoying and I hate it. It looks dumb.

I want to know, is there is a way to remove the glow or change it so that I my character doesn't glow when she wears enchanted equipment? Someone help me please

could be wrong, but i think you can only change the color by putting different sorts of enchantments on the stuff...or just go sick with the construction set.
