cannot complete

Hey guys, I am trying to complete the fighters guild quest line and I am on the one where you have to go into a place called swampy cave i believe. I'm supposed to find out what killed these town folk that went in there and dissapeared. I follow the map marker all the way to this room in the cave where I am supposed to find the body of some poor sap who has been killed by trolls but there is no body. just skeletons and zombies. I have searched everywhere in the cave but there is no body to be found. I do remember clearing this cave out earlier in the game though. Could this be the reason the body is not showing up? Please help. Without completeing this quest I cannot finish the fighters guild quest line!!!!! thanks.

This exact same thing happened to me too.

Very sad, because I was never able to finish the fighters guild with that character. Don't worry though, this won't happen to other characters you may create/have already created. I myslef created three others since then and the body was right on the quest marker for all three.

This is a known bug and has been discussed here on this forum in the past.  Go into the command console by hitting the Tilde "~" key and then type in this command exactly as shown:

player.setstage fgc10swamp 40

This will advance the quest and let you finish it.  If it doesn't work, then you have not typed it in exactly as shown with spaces  etc. so keep trying until it works.  Good luck.

I have the exact same problem and I like the sound of that fix.

However.... I cannot access my "Console" menu and thus cannot enter the cheat.
That is how I came upon this forum, I was looking for a way to solve this problem.
If anyone has any suggestions I am willing to give it a try.
