I'm carrying around loot that far exceeds any shopkeeper's upper limit (that I know of.)  In Morrowind, buying and selling were part of the same transaction, so if you didn't go to Creeper or the Drunken Mud Crab, you could barter an expensive item for several smaller items of lesser value, then sell those off one at a time.  I don't see that happening in Oblivion, since buying and selling are two separate transactions.  So how do I get rid of my 7000GP item without settling for a measly 1200GP?  I need the money!

If you are on PC you can download a mod (or make one yourself) that increases the amount of gold merchants have.

I use this one myself.

Yea.. its kind of retarded that Bethsada didnt include some shops that have enough money for those kind of items.

Some of the nifty items you can buy cost like 12k.. but u cant get anywhere near its value back... thats moronic.

I am praying for an addition of this sort for the Xbox 360 .. *sighs*

If you need the money that bad why dont you go pick some grapes at skingrad, then follow the castle walls till you find a huge batch of tomatoes, turn them into potions and sell them! Easy way to make good money and it also increases your alchemy tremendously. Farming and making potions is the only way to go. I keep all of my loot and such at my house...I dont even bother selling them cause potion making is much much easier. The fruit and vegatables grow back after a few days so just keep doing this. You can make 7000 in just one run...no worries. Im sure we can all tell you where some other great farms are at if you wanna know.

Anyway...have fun!  Grin

Why do you need so much money? I sell my loot at 2000, or keep it at my home as a collectible item. Maybe Berthesada wanted to slow down how fast you can make cash. All the time you spend carrying your loot can be spent upgrading your character and finding better items.
