One thing stupid about Oblivion is the dialogue:
Different voice actors were given the exact same text. When asking for rumors, this is where you get the most examples of this problem. Why record different voices, male/female, to say the exact same thing?
I suppose one way of bypassing this is to remove the option to ask for rumours altogether. Either by giving each NPC a unique script that misses out on the 'normal' speech menu you would see in oblivion (although, that may take out the fun of trying to get people to like you) which is possible - but tedious - or finding the script that enables rumours in the first place.
I'm more up for the earlier option, as the making friends bit will only add more work when it comes to actually making use of the system. It would be a load off our shoulders if we take out the benefits of making friends, but would also add the load of scripting each NPC differently, and voicing them.
Thanks for pointing it out.
Well theres a small benefit in terms of keeping track of the lore, making sure the NPCs do not say something false. So this is a reminder that its not simple to keep together such a complex world with almost infinite possibilities. But it wouldnt have been much more effort to fix this voice acting issue.
Given that I'm not keeping to Cyradiil's world, I would also like to take the lore as it is in Oblivion away.
This modification will be very linear in comparison to Oblivion. As my first project using TESCS, I won't be taking it to every circle in the book.
